A little closer to perfection!
This was a purchase for my wife who loves Keds Champions, but misses the classic features. I had to swap the round laces for standard soft cotton flat laces, but these Champions probably required the least alterations of any modern style. The cuff and toe tags are more subtle with white backgrounds instead of blue. The grey lettering can be covered with white fabric paint if desired, but I may leave them as they are. Those of us that remember the classic solid tan pebbled rubber on the soles will not be satisfied with the quality of these soles, but this is a relatively minor aesthetic problem. The water repellent canvas obviously doesn’t have the appeal of the soft cotton canvas of decades past, but they feel no worse than other modern Champions.

They Stay White:)
I love the canvas Champion style, but the white gets dirty, so when I saw these in a water repellent style I was all for it. My regular size 9 is great. I wear them without socks, so size up a half size if you wear thin socks. The insole is squishy and has a bit of an arch. It only took a few steps to break them in to be comfortable. I love them and hope that Keds will make this a regular item in whites and pastels. Thanks so much!
