Terrible blisters and no arch support
I bought these a couple of weeks ago, and had a few problems right off the bat. First, they were much higher than I expected--when walking around the house to test them, I almost twisted my ankle once! But once I realized that I just needed to walk in them as I would in any platform shoe, that was fine. I wore them around the house for a while to make sure they were comfortable--they pinched a tiny bit at the heel, so I bent them down, softened them up manually, and they seemed fine. I wore them out that day to go shopping, but after a few blocks they started to hurt my heels. By the time I had gone six blocks I had to find a place to sit down and put bandaids on--I'm a mom and always carry some around. That worked for a little while, but the cushioning wasn't enough. A few more blocks and the blisters had gotten so bad I had to find a drug store and buy some of those special (expensive!) anti-blister bandaids, as well as a pair of heel guards to put on the insides of the shoes to keep them from rubbing in the future. I hobbled home, damage already done, pain somewhat mitigated, trying to avoid worse damage, missing my train because I just couldn't walk at the normal speed required to get there in time, and had to wait half an hour for the next one. They were on sale, so I don't think I can't return or exchange them, which I definitely would have done. I'm still not healed enough to try them again--it's been a week and I tried another pair of shoes that hits the same spot yesterday, and it became apparent after walking across the living room that I wouldn't make it half a block without another blister bandaid. Another note--I put orthotics in because there's no arch support whatsoever. A pity because they are cute and the high heel does provide a lot more cushioning than the regular Keds--the only reason they got 2 stars. I'm hoping that if I wait another week and put in the heel guards they won't give me blisters again, otherwise they will have been a complete waste of money, sale or no. Fingers crossed.
