Keds Maisie Mary Jane Grosgrain

Such a cute shoe. Had high hopes. But like others have said, the fabric around the tie area is much, much too tight. I have regular feet. Never had issues with my normal size being too small. But for these to fit, I have to take the inserts out. And even then they are a bit tight. So disappointing.

I wanted these to work out because they’re just as cute in person! Think of all the summery fits with socks like the models!! Size 5.5 length was good and width was not bad (I have bunions/ wide feet). I could get my feet into them fine with no immediate pain. However, the moment I took a couple steps, I could feel pain on the tops of my foot. The top edges are so stiff and painful. They don’t stretch or move so they dig in. I wish there was a little more height in the toe box/ top of the shoe or that the edges were softer/ more flexible. I got more room if I took out the arch support insole but underneath was hard and flat. Realistically my feet would not be happy to walk around without the insole. Perhaps I could have sized up but I wore it the length would be too long and my heels would slip. The satin grosgrain ribbon material is very ballet core and very pretty. If you’ve ever seen those ballet pointe shoe fitting videos where they show the bad fitting shoes vs the good fitting shoes, these were more like the ill fitting shoe, so back these go!

I have worn these about six or so times now for extended periods and the top part of the shoe just hurts so bad. It doesn’t stretch out like I thought it would, but leaves my foot feeling bruised. I bought the size I normally wear in all of the other slip ons, so it’s not a sizing issue. Otherwise cute shoes, but painful.

I just got the black pair today. I ordered a size 11. I always order a size 11 and I have over a hundred pairs of Keds. Not joking on having that many pairs. I order up a size to leave a little toe room and normally I have a little toe room but with these I don't. These Mary Janes feel like a 10 1/2 on my foot. They also feel snug on the sides of my foot. They may stretch out a bit when I wear them but we'll see. They are also a weird vynl type canvas. Not quite what I was expecting. I wish they were the typical canvas material. Sorry but I don't agree with the first reviewer.

I bought these a few days ago and I'm so glad I did! They're very comfortable, the strap doesn't dig into my foot but keeps me securely in the shoes. I prefer to wear them with lacey socks, but I think these could be worn with those no-show liner socks if you wanted to. The grosgrain material is very pretty in person and the bucket is cute. The strap is adjustable but also slightly elastic so you can slip them on. I sprayed my pair with Scotchguard, but ended up with some yellow spots on the rubber soles, so cover those with tape if you do the same.
