Too narrow

My toddler grandson wears a 6 1/2 wide. So I ordered a 7 wide. He couldn’t even get his foot in the shoe. Very disappointed as I remembered his mother wearing Keds with Velcro closure, an incredible help for young mothers, and couldn’t wait to get another generation on the Keds bandwagon. Sadly, that won’t happen. Somewhere on the website I thought I saw that there was some alteration that could be made to the insole to increase width, but they are glued in.
