We think there’s something incredibly powerful in being able to speak your mind without uttering a word, a sentiment we share with founder and designer Rachel Antonoff. Known for her statement-making designs (like graphic Tees showing the female reproductive system and sweatshirts with powerfully provocative phrases), Rachel uses her fashion line to promote social change and speak out for women’s equality—which put her at the top of our must-collaborate-with list. Her Hysterical Female graphic made its first appearance on a T-shirt sold on the Rachel Antonoff site with the description, “Calling all hysterics! Let everyone on the Senate floor know who they’re dealing with.” We wanted to take it to the next level, putting it on one of our silhouettes that’s just as confidence-building as the message, and our Triple Kick platform sneaker was just the ticket. We’ve been wearing them with everything from leather leggings to textured skirts, velvet skinnies, denim, and even slinky slip dresses—there’s very little this sneaker can’t stand up to.
