Women’s Equality Day 2021

Stronger Together

Rainbow People
by Elizabeth Olwen

Elizabeth Olwen, a Canadian print and pattern designer known for her unique patterns infused with heart and soul, created this powerful Rainbow People print. It features women standing side-by-side creating a human chain of strength, not separated by our differences, but unified by them.

Artists For Humanity

Located in Boston, Artists For Humanity (AFH) is a non-profit teen art and design enterprise. Under-resourced teens are mentored and employed to explore and express their creative abilities, and gain valuable experience collaborating with clients on a wide range of projects.

In celebration of Women’s Equality Day, we donated about 50 pairs of white Keds to AFH where artists used them as a canvas to create an original design inspired by their own experience.

Here are just a few of the powerful pieces they created:

I’m Here
by Angelina

As a South East Asian and member of the
LGBTQ community, I don’t see myself
represented much in the media. And when
I do, they’re always the side character, but
I’m here, I AM a main character.
